Staying motivated 24/7

Well, i’ve been kind of dormant on my blog for the past because I’ve been working hard on creating some products for you guys (in particular my sales funnel stuff), however I wanted to post today because I want to share something with you that I have found… well ground breaking for me personally.

Through my time in network marketing and training as an internet marketer, personal development has come up time and time again as something that we should be doing all the time, but it wasn’t until yesterday that i found something that really worked for me. Like a lot of people out there i’m quite an introvert and don’t care much for open displays of motivation and enthusiasm (if you are extroverted then this still has relevance to you as well :) ). For the past 3 years i have been quite consistent with personal development. I attend training courses, seminars, listen to audios and read books, make sure that i consistently work on personal development almost daily.

The major problem was that I couldn’t consistently achieve long term motivation all the time. Yesterday, i tried something completely different, i started to keep a journal. I know, I know it seems so high school teenage girl of me, but hear me out. I have some very clear goals about my business, health and general lifestyle that i want to improve (as most people generally do). The problem is that although I was developing personally my follow through could be imroved and general motivation day to day could be. Basically my journal works as a way for me to reflect on the day, reflect on my fears, issues going on, things that i didn’t get done and things that i need to work on. In other words this makes me accountable, allows me to vent and allows myself to ask the hard questions.

I listen to an audio by a guy called Skip Ross quite regularly and he says that the first factor to been motivated and staying motivated 24/7 is developing a strong character. This is exactly the principle that i’m applying, in other words i’m using my journal to ask the hard questions about myself and what i need to do/concentrate on to achieve my goals. I would expect that this method isn’t necessarily going to work for everyone, but what i want you to take away from today is that you need to find that something to ask the hard questions about yourself and stay accountable along the way.
